LATEST NEWS

The New Lipchis Way is a 38 mile walking route from Liphook, on the northern borders of West Sussex, to East Head, West Wittering. The official inaugural walk of the whole new trail will take place over the three days of the August Bank Holiday from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th August. Click here for more information.

Blue Flag Season
The Blue Flag Season opened on 1st June.  Lifeguards now patrol the beach every day from 9.00am to 6.00pm between the yellow flags at groynes 14a to 18.  Please follow their advice regarding safety on the beach, understand the flags and read the information notices. See our Beach Safe page for more useful tips.  Dogs are also now excluded from this area to comply with Blue Flag Regulations. 

East Head - National Trust
At least one batch of chicks has successfully hatched within the ringed plover area.  Thank you for respecting the fenced-off area and keeping your dogs on leads to allow them to breed and thrive here.

Horse-riding restricted to before 9.00am and after 6.00pm.

Chichester Harbour Photo Competition
All photographers are invited to get snapping this summer.  The theme for this year's competition is 'People and Places in Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.

Photographs are invited from all areas within the harbourside which capture any aspect, occupation or pastime which shows the importance of the area is for rest, relaxation and sport.

Sat 2 Aug Two Villages and a Ferry Walk

A 7 mile (11km) walk between the villages of Bosham and Itchenor, using ferry rides. It is an early start, aiming to get back before the high tide at lunchtime. Ferry fare £1.25 each way (bring correct change). Bring a snack and be prepared for muddy tidal paths. Meet: Bosham car park, pay and display.

Mon 11 Aug Marine Week: Mud Hunt - Family Fun

Hear about why the harbour mud is important for nature conservation and also why it can be dangerous. Then we go on a mud walk! Dress to get wet and muddy. Meet: On the shoreline next to the Quay, Dell Quay. Roadside parking.

Wed 13 August Earth, Air & Water: Driftwood Sculpture

Be inspired by Chichester Harbour under the guidance of professional sculptors Ganesh and Elaine Kings to create a work of art with driftwood. Start collecting driftwood now (store it in a dry place). Tools and natural dowling will be available along with extra driftwood and completed sculptures for inspiration. You can bring a board upon which to take your sculptures home. Bring a packed lunch. BOOKING ESSENTIAL, phone Harbour Office. £15 per person includes refreshments. A 14 mile (22km), walk linking Havant and Chichester and the four main channels of Chichester Harbour in between. It will be a bit of an adventure so bring a packed lunch, snacks and carry jelly shoes or flipflops just in case we are caught out by the high tide. You will need comfortable walking shoes that can cope with muddy tidal paths. Return to Havant independently by bus or train (information will be available at the start). Meet: Havant Railway Station
