West Wittering Beach is proud to be a Blue Flag Beach with its associated high standards of cleanliness, safety and public information.
Limited to a steep concrete ramp by the windsurf club. Wheelchairs should be all-terrain. Access elsewhere is made extremely difficult due to shifting sand and pebbles. The Estate has two beach wheelchairs which can be borrowed for a small deposit. Click here for details.
From 1st May to 30th September, dogs are excluded from the main swimming beach between groynes numbered 14a to 18, which broadly corresponds to the area in front of the line of beach huts. Dogs are welcome on the whole beach during the rest of the year. Owners are expected to clear up after their pets - bags and dog bins are provided - and to keep them under control at all times. Remember not to leave dogs in locked cars on warm days.
The 161 Beach Huts are mainly privately owned. When a hut is sold it is by sealed bid and a mailing list for interested purchasers is held in the estate office. There is a small annual administration charge for this service. Click here for information on owning a beach hut.
No launching of motorised craft or sailing dinghies is allowed.

Drones, model aircraft, cars, speedboats and children’s power vehicles - are not allowed for safety reasons.
The loading and unloading of horse-boxes and trailers from the car park is never permitted nor are horses permitted anywhere on the Estate other than the beach.
